The Society for Theatre Research – Call for Applications

The Society for Theatre Research, “for all those interested in the history and technique of the British theatre”, invites applications for awards from its research fund.

Amount: one or two awards of up to £1,000, and a number of smaller awards, normally in the range £100-£500

Deadlines:
Faculty Research Office: 5 days prior to the agency deadline. (If you wish to have feedback on your application allow at least one week.)
Research Western: 5 days prior to the agency deadline
Society for Theatre Research: Friday March 25th, 2016

Description: The topic must be substantially concerned with one or more of the history, historiography, art, and practice of the British theatre (including music-hall, opera, dance, and associated skills and crafts of performance). Exclusively textual, literary or aesthetic topics are not eligible, nor are applications for course fees unless for specific professional training in research techniques.

Eligibility: Private scholars, theatre professionals, academic staff, and students, of any nationality, are welcome to apply. No restriction is imposed on the status or nationality of applicants, nor on the location of the proposed research.

NOTE: It is a condition of acceptance that a summary of the work achieved, to which the Society’s grant has contributed, should be provided to the Research awards Sub-Committee by 1 April 2017.
