The New (Draft) Tri-Agency Financial Administration Guide

The Tri-Agencies (SSHRC, CIHR, NSERC) are updating their financial administration requirements and moving to a principles-based approach.  Western is one of 12 institutions participating in the pilot group to adopt the new Guide (draft) and to provide feedback.

Effective February 1st  Western will begin using the new Guide to manage Tri-Agency funds awarded to researchers.  Researchers are encouraged to familiarize themselves with the 4 Principles and the 5 Directives that anchor this new approach. However, you will find that this is not a significant change for Western. Faculty financial personnel and Research Finance’s financial officers are available to consult on applying the principles or Western’s institutional policies.  They will be logging inquiries from their Faculties and Departments in order to provide feedback to the Tri-Agencies on the draft policy.

Updated information about this initiative and the new Guide is on the Research Finance website.
