Mitacs Indigenous Call

Highlights:

  • Mitacs will match partner funds 3:1
  • Partners can be industry or not-for-profit organizations
  • Call is active now until January 29, 2021.

What qualifies a project to be eligible for the Indigenous call?
The intern must self-identify as being Indigenous, or the partner organization is 50% owned or greater by an individual that self-identifies as Indigenous.

What programs are eligible?
Accelerate and Business Strategy Internships (BSI) are both eligible for the Indigenous call.

How much will the partner need to contribute?
For Accelerate internships the partner organization will contribute $3750 and Mitacs will match it with $11,250 for each internship unit.
For BSI internships partner organization will contribute $2500 and Mitacs will match it with $7500.
Accelerate project can be multiple units; BSI are 1 unit each.

What if I just submitted a project with an Indigenous partner organization or an Indigenous intern?
Mitacs will be allowing projects to be discounted retroactive that have a start date of November 15th, 2020 and later.
