Developing Research on Teaching Surveys: A Session for Beginners

Do you have the right tools for your Research on Teaching (RT) project? How do you know? In this interactive session, participants will work in small groups to generate a list of rules for creating good survey items from cases provided by the facilitator and even write a few items of their own. Sound practices in finding and using existing measures will also be discussed; including issues concerning copyright, reliability, and validity.
