The Teaching Support Centre presents:

From Data to Dissemination: A Research on Teaching Writing Workshop

facilitated by

Tuesday, March 7, 2017
9:30 am – 11:30 am
Room 147B, University Community Centre

The final act in any research on teaching project is writing it up, making meaning out of the data and sharing it with others. Yet, for many, this can be the most daunting part of the process. (Indeed, the challenges of moving from research to writing can often delay a project indefinitely). In this interactive workshop, we will integrate practices from creative writing and explore meaningful ways to begin the drafting process. Participants’ will consider their own writing processes; learn new strategies for getting started; and complete short writing activities (drawing on their own project materials) that will move them towards a written project.

This workshop is ideal for faculty who have research on teaching projects underway, but have not yet written their manuscripts, or who have a difficult time moving from research to writing. Participants are encouraged to bring notes or other materials on a current project.
