The New Frontiers in Research Fund Transformation stream has been launched. Research Western is implementing internal deadlines and processes to enable them to identify potential projects, provide adequate support, and allocate resources.
The Transformation stream will support large-scale, Canadian-led interdisciplinary research projects that address a major challenge with the potential to realize real and lasting change.

January 8 –Expressions of Interest – Research Western is implementing a mandatory expression of interest deadline of January 8, 2020. Expressions of interest can be submitted to carolyn.paterson@uwo.ca and must include the PI(s), project title, a short (~250 word) description of the challenge and proposed approach, and a description of the co-applicants, collaborators, and/or partners involved.
January 21, 2020: A draft of the NFRF Notice of Intent must be submitted to Research Western
January 22 –“Pitch Your Proposal” Event : A mandatory “Pitch your Proposal” event will be held on January 22, 2020 from 1:30 – 2:30 (location TBA). The event will be open to the campus community and we encourage all those interested to attend. Project leaders, or a designate from their team, will provide a brief presentation summarizing the proposed project and how it addresses the Transformation stream criteria. Project leaders must also submit their draft Notices of Intent the day prior to the event. Details of the event and presentation format will be provided to project leaders following submission of their expression of interest.
