Western’s Draft Strategic Research Plan Outline

Western Research is sharing its draft outline of the strategic research plan for your thoughts, feedback, and ideas.

At a high level, Western Research exists to support the university’s research, scholarship, and creative activity – and most notably, those conducting it. The draft plan includes guiding principles and objectives related to this goal. Principles, like values, are intended to flow across all they do. The objectives are themes to guide what they do as a unit, and how.

Western Research is interested to hear what resonates with you, what needs more emphasis, or what is missing altogether – particularly in the principles and objectives sections.

You will note this document is only an outline and that it includes sections, written in italics, that simply highlight what is planned to be written. Please let Western Research know if anything in these sections jumps out at you, and note that at this point they’re only intended as signposts — so don’t feel that you need to give detailed feedback on these. The feedback form is available here .
