Western Strategic Support for Tri-Council Success – Bridge Grants (NSERC and CIHR)

Western Research has announced the Spring 2022 competition for the Western Strategic Support for CIHR Success and Western Strategic Support for NSERC Success Bridge funding opportunities.

Amount: up to $25,000 (1:1 match required from the faculty – please contact your ADR)

Deadlines:
Faculty Research Office: 1 week prior to Western Research deadline. (If you wish to have feedback on your application allow at least two weeks – contact Karen Kueneman)
Western ResearchROLA: May 17, 2022 A ROLA proposal must be submitted one week prior to the application deadline.
Western Research: May 24, 2022
Funding Start: July 1, 2022

Description & Eligibility: These bridge grant programs are targeted to established researchers at Western who have recently been funded by CIHR or NSERC, but no longer hold CIHR or NSERC funding. In order to be eligible to apply for this opportunity, researchers must have been unsuccessful in a recent external CIHR or NSERC competition (e.g, NSERC Discovery Grant Fall 2021 intake, or CIHR Project Grant 2021 intake). The purpose of this competitive funding is to address specific critiques in the most recent grant submission and increase the likelihood of success for a future application.
