Indigenous Research Capacity and Reconciliation – Connection Grants

The federal research funding agencies (SSHRC, NSERC and CIHR) have launched a special call which invites proposals from applicants affiliated with First Nations, Métis and Inuit not-for-profit organizations, as well as with other not-for-profit organizations or Canadian postsecondary institutions in any discipline.

Indigenous Research Capacity and Reconciliation—Connection Grants events and outreach activities to engage and exchange knowledge on successful ways of conducting Indigenous research that are transformative and contribute to reconciliation, including holistic, interdisciplinary and distinctions-based approaches.

Amount: up to $50,000 for six months, with the possibility of a six-month extension.

Deadlines:
Faculty Research Office: 5 days prior to SSHRC deadline. (If you wish to have feedback on your application allow at least one week – contact Karen Kueneman)
Research Western: 5 days prior to SSHRC deadline
SSHRC:  September 6, 2018

Eligibility: Applicants  must hold an eligible academic research appointment at Western.

Full Applications are to be processed through Research Western  and are to be accompanied by a completed ROLA.
