Western Research has formally announced that Jacquie Burkell, Kevin Shoemaker, and Bryan Neff have been appointed to five-year terms as Associate Vice-Presidents (Research), effective July 1, 2021.

Western’s Associate Vice-Presidents (Research) play a vital role in Western’s ability to support, amplify, and promote research, scholarship, and creative activity across our faculties and schools.

Each of the three Associate Vice-Presidents (Research) will provide broad leadership of activities related to research, scholarship, and creative activity across campus, while having differentiated mandates and distributed, but complementary, accountabilities. Western Research will also be initiating a search for an Associate Vice-President (Innovation & Strategic Partnerships), who will support and facilitate multidisciplinary partnerships and external collaborations.
