In this online session, Kelly Patterson, an Ethics Officer with the Non-Medical Research Ethics Board (NMREB), will provide an overview of research ethics considerations for faculty members who do research on their teaching. She will orient attendees to the federal and institutional mandates for conducting research with humans, highlight the process for obtaining REB approval, direct attendees to useful resources, provide specific recommendations to address common issues in conducting research on teaching and learning, and answer any questions you may have.

Finding the Research on Teaching and Learning Literature: November 23, 2021; 10:30am to 12:00pm Register for the event here

Unlike discipline-specific literature, research on teaching and learning is located everywhere. Join Heather Campbell (Teaching and Learning Librarian, Curriculum) and Hailey Zanth (Teaching and Learning MLIS Co-Op Student) for this hands-on workshop focused on navigating the seemingly-disjointed field of teaching and learning research. By the end of the session, we will discuss the interdisciplinary, mixed-methods nature of teaching and learning research; and, learn how to find the sources you need.
