The Digital Citizen Contribution Program (DCCP) aims to support democracy and social inclusion in Canada by enhancing and/or supporting efforts to counter online disinformation and other online harms and threats. They recently announced a call for proposals to provide time-limited financial assistance for research projects aiming to:
- Evaluate the efficacy of efforts by platforms to counter disinformation and other online harms;
- Understand the role of non-news and alternative media sources of disinformation; or
- Identify the behavioural and psychological underpinnings of the spread of disinformation and other harmful content in the Canadian context.
Amount: up to $100,000 (must be spent by March 31, 2023).
