France-Canada Research Fund: New Scientific Collaborations 2023

The France Canada Research Fund (FCRF) has launched the 2023 call for proposals for the New Scientific Collaboration Support Program.

Amount: $8,000–15,000 (over 2 years)

Internal: Thursday, November 10, by 11:59 p.m. ETWestern ROLA proposal + (draft) Application Deadline Each applicant must complete a ROLA Proposal for Chair and Dean approvals Submit a PDF of the application & CVs through this form
External: Friday, November 18, by 8 p.m. ETFinal Submission – submit the final application as one PDF to the French Embassy and intgrant@uwo.ca.

Description: The program promotes partnerships between researchers in France and Canada, funding new scientific projects jointly developed by French and Canadian teams that have never worked together before. Proposals are welcome from a range of disciplines and interdisciplinarity is encouraged. There are two priority themes for the 2023 competition:

  1. Healthy aging in our societies: A cross perspective of social sciences and technologies
  2. Energy Transition: New Technologies with a Societal Impact

* NOTE: Institutions can only submit a maximum of 5 applications. Please complete the internal Notice of Intent form to express interest to apply to the competition by Monday, October 10, 2022. This has been established to allow for an internal selection process to occur. In the event that the number of applicants exceeds the maximum allowed, Western will adjudicate the eligible applications submitted and select the top five to be put forth for the evaluation committee.
