SSHRC has announced deadline changes for the upcoming SSHRC Connection and Partnership Engagement Grants (PEG). This will only apply to the summer round. The internal deadline for Western Research review will be 10 business days ahead of the new external deadline:

SSHRC PEG: 
Western Research: May 8, 2024
SSHRC: May 22, 2024 (Original SSHRC deadline was June 15)

SSHRC Connection:
Western Research: June 6, 2024,
SSHRC: June 20, 2024 (Original SSHRC Deadline was Aug 1)

SSHRC has indicated that these changes are due to necessary IT work taking place this summer that will impact SSHRC’s online application systems. They recognize that this may cause inconvenience; however, it is the only feasible way to ensure researchers have an opportunity to apply for a grant if they plan to begin work in fall 2024.  

Please note that deadlines for other annual competitions for these two funding opportunities remain unchanged, so researchers may also choose to submit their grant application to a later competition, based on normal future cycles. The following application deadlines are September 15, 2024, for Partnership Engage Grants and November 1, 2024, for Connection Grants.
