eCampusOntario, a centre for excellence in online learning has issued a call for research proposals on digital inclusion.
Amount: up to $20,000 for a number of small-scale projects; up to $125,000 for one large-scale research project
Deadlines:
Faculty Research Office: 5 days prior to agency deadline. (If you wish to have feedback on your application allow at least one week – contact Karen Kueneman)
Research Western: 5 days prior to agency deadline
eCampus Ontario: Monday June 19, 2017 at 4:00PM EDT (results announced end of Aug)
Description: In this Call for Proposals, the Ontario Digital Service has provided funding to support researchers who wish to explore digital inclusion and related areas of focus, such as inequities in access to the Internet and digital skills, practices of design which exclude groups or individuals, and explorations of the concrete ways in which people can benefit from the application of digital skills and access across sectors (e.g., healthcare, education, civic participation) as well as ways in which people may be put at risk as a result of lack of knowledge, or skills in digital technologies.

Note: There is a short turn-around on this project – all final reports must be submitted by March 15, 2018
Budget Note: Administrative overhead is an eligible expense, to a maximum of 2% of the total budget

IN ADDITION, although not a research project, eCampus Ontario has also issued the following call:
Open Textbook Initiative – funding is also available to increase the presence and use of open textbooks in several priority areas. This RFP will be managed by the Teaching Support Centre (TSC). Proposals are to be submitted by email to the TSC via ecampusontario@uwo.ca by Monday June 12, 2017 at 11:59PM EST. Proposals will be managed by the TSC in receiving required signatures from Dr. Doerksen and then submitted to eCampusOntario on behalf of the Project Lead.
