Western Strategic Support for Tri-Council Success – CIHR & NSERC Bridge Grants

Jointly supported by the office of the Vice-President (Research) and the researcher’s faculty, the WSS for CIHR Success and WSS for NSERC Success Bridge Grant program is targeted to established researchers who have recently been funded by CIHR or NSERC, but no longer hold CIHR or NSERC funding.

Amount: $25,000 for one year ($12,500 supported by the Office of the Vice-President (Research) and matched 1:1 by the applicant’s Faculty – Researchers must consult with their Faculty Research Office regarding matching funds.)

Eligibility: A Principal Investigator must hold an eligible academic appointment with a significant research component at Western University.Researchers must have been unsuccessful in a recent external CIHR or NSERC competition (e.g., NSERC Discovery Grant Fall 2022, or CIHR Project Grant 2022). The purpose of this competitive funding is to address specific critiques in the most recent grant submission and increase the likelihood of success for a future application.
